Hi, I’m Harlow, the founder and editor of VoiceRangeTest.com.
I created VoiceRangeTest.com to make vocal range, pitch, frequency, voice classification, and basic music concepts easier to understand and explore through practical browser-based tools and clear educational content.
My work on the site focuses on researching voice and music topics, developing and testing interactive tools, reviewing published content, and keeping information accurate, useful, and transparent about its limitations.

How I Research Content
I aim to make VoiceRangeTest.com useful by focusing on verifiable information rather than repeating claims simply because they appear on other websites.
Depending on the topic, my research may include established music-theory references, vocal pedagogy concepts, acoustics principles, technical documentation, reputable educational material, and primary or authoritative sources where appropriate.
For singer vocal-range articles, I try to compare available recordings and credible references where possible rather than relying on a single secondary claim. Reported extreme notes are treated carefully because recordings, live performances, vocal effects, transposition, and different interpretations can produce conflicting range estimates.
When a fact is uncertain, disputed, estimated, or dependent on context, the content should make that clear rather than present an estimate as an absolute fact.

How I Test Our Tools
Building an audio tool is only part of the process. I also review how it behaves under realistic conditions.
Depending on the tool, testing may include:

Why I Built VoiceRangeTest.com
Many people want a straightforward answer to questions such as:
- What notes can I sing?
- What is my vocal range?
- Am I a tenor, baritone, soprano, or another voice type?
- Am I singing the correct pitch?
- What frequency corresponds to this note?
- How can I better understand what I hear?
The difficult part is that these questions often look simpler than they really are.
A tool can detect frequency, but interpreting a voice involves more than frequency alone. A singer may reach a note once without being comfortable singing it regularly. A reported celebrity range may include unusual vocal effects that are not representative of the singer’s typical usable range.
I built VoiceRangeTest.com to make those distinctions easier to understand while still giving people practical tools they can use immediately.
