Information You Provide to Us

You can use the standard features of VoiceRangeTest.com without creating an account.

If you email us, we receive:

Microphone Access

Some VoiceRangeTest.com tools, such as the Voice Range Test and the Pitch Detector, require access to your microphone.

Your browser controls microphone permission. A microphone-dependent tool cannot use an available microphone through the normal browser permission system unless permission has been granted.

You can deny microphone permission or change it later through your browser or device settings.

Not every VoiceRangeTest.com tool uses a microphone.

How Audio May Be Handled

All of our microphone tools handle audio the same way.

They analyze the live microphone signal within your browser, using the Web Audio API, and turn it into results such as a note name or a frequency. It is not recorded, saved, uploaded to our server or sent to any external audio-processing service.

We checked every tool script on September 27, 2026: none contains code that sends audio or results over the network. When you stop a tool or close the page, the audio is gone.

The Note Identifier and the Song Key Finder can also analyze an audio file you choose. The file is opened and analyzed in your browser and is not uploaded.

Microphone audio and tool results are never passed to advertising or analytics scripts.

Tool Results and Measurements

VoiceRangeTest.com tools may produce results such as:

  • detected notes;
  • frequencies;
  • lowest or highest notes;
  • vocal-range spans;
  • voice-type estimates;
  • pitch measurements;
  • scores;
  • other tool-specific outputs.

These derived results are different from raw microphone audio.

We do not intentionally send derived voice-test results to Google Analytics.

Local Browser Storage

VoiceRangeTest.com uses browser localStorage and sessionStorage for some tool functionality.

Depending on the tool, local storage may be used to remember:

  • settings;
  • preferences;
  • recent tool state;
  • results needed for a browser-based feature.

    • At the moment, the Vocal Range Calculator keeps your last five calculations in localStorage. The Tone Generator, Audio Frequency Test, Online Metronome and Interval Ear Training keep a short history in sessionStorage, which your browser clears when you close the tab. The microphone tools store nothing.

Information stored in localStorage remains on your browser and device; our tool code does not transmit it.

You can normally clear local storage through your browser’s site-data or privacy settings.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, certain technical information may be processed automatically when you visit VoiceRangeTest.com.

Advertising

VoiceRangeTest.com is supported by display ads served by Journey by Mediavine. Mediavine and its advertising partners may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies, and may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details and the pages you visit, to show ads (including ads based on your interests), to limit how often you see the same ad and to measure how ads perform.
